THE WINNER OF THE GOOD DATE COMPETITION IS…

We spent all weekend looking through your entries for the Good Date competition (some of your stories made us cringe so much haha) and it was hard to pick just one winner, but we had to do it…

Congratulation to Lewis Williams! Lewis rewrote the entire lyrics for our debut single Dirty Dancer to be about a bad date - and we loved it! Maybe you’re destined for a career in songwriting ;)

ALEX: We were supposed to have rehearsals this week but they didn’t happen in the end because little Jade is poorly!

I thought I’d utilise the time to get back in shape as I’m super excited for our performance at This Must Be Pop Live on Tuesday… But in true Dirty Dancer style, I ended up doing this!! :D

OH MY LIVE!

We might have spent most of December kicking and screaming on the All Fired Up Tour with The Saturdays - but fear not, we’re not about to start taking a break now!

In just less than two weeks you can catch us performing alongside acts like the Luminites and Katie Sky at this month’s This Must Be Pop Live! Tickets are only £4 on the door, so you’ve basically got no excuse to make it :P

But that’s not all… On February 20th it’s the FIFTH birthday of Showcase Live and we’ll be their to help with the celebrations :D

Bad Date Fact File!

JADE:

Bad Date was one of the quickest tracks we’ve ever recorded and also the easiest rap. We were literally in and out :)
We have LOADS of fun performing this particular track
We worked out the dance moves pretty quickly. We wanted to make it as fun as possible and moves that everyone could join in with. Then when it gets to the base bit we can really go for it!
We took all the pictures that you can see in the video when we were on the road with The Saturdays for the All Fired Up Tour
The lyrics are so fun to perform because you can really play up to it. My personal favourite lyrics is… “Stalking stanley, tall but not manly” Take it as you please!

ALEX:

I absolutely luuuurrrrrvvvvved performing Bad Date on The Saturdays Tour - I think it’s the music break down, where we get to cut loose…
Fact: I still don’t know if its “dud” or “durr”. Haha, I do really! It’s dud, but I did think it was durr for a really long time :P
It actually only took us half an hour to choreograph Bad Date
When we recorded the song, we wanted it to have a slight 60’s girl band feel - listen to some of the harmonies and see if you agree!
Fave lyrics is “He wants to peek in my bra and thinks a free drink is gonna go far - WRONG!” Me and Jade aren’t heavy drinkers so we can both relate to that :P
Our tip for the boys who don’t want it to be a Bad Date? “Talking is cheap in a material world”!
